How to Create a Mailtrap Account for Email Testing

Creating a Mailtrap account is straightforward. Follow these steps:


Step 1: Visit Mailtrap Website

  1. Open your browser and go to Mailtrap's official website.

Step 2: Sign Up for an Account

  1. Click on "Sign Up for Free": You'll find this button on the homepage.
  2. Choose a Signup Method:
    • Email: Enter your email address, create a password, and click Sign Up.
    • Google or GitHub: Alternatively, you can sign up using your Google or GitHub account for faster access.

Step 3: Verify Your Email

  1. Check your inbox for a verification email from Mailtrap.
  2. Click on the verification link in the email to confirm your account.

Step 4: Login to Your Account

  1. Once verified, return to Mailtrap's website and log in with your credentials.

Step 5: Set Up a Mailtrap Inbox

  1. After logging in, you'll be directed to the dashboard.
  2. Click "Create New Inbox" to set up your first Mailtrap inbox. You can name it for easier identification, like "Testing Environment."

Step 6: Configure Your Application

  1. Once the inbox is created, Mailtrap provides you with SMTP credentials.
  2. Use these credentials to configure your application or email library for testing.

Step 7: Test Email Delivery

  1. Send a test email from your application to the Mailtrap inbox.
  2. Check the Mailtrap dashboard to view and debug the email.
